Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Mat… Review.

My first (very modest) collection of brushes consisted of 5 brushes and a spooley. So washing was no big deal. My palm and a bar of white unscented soap (aka B29) was more than enough. But then, my “collection” grew and life became more complicated.
I still used my hands but the time for brush-washing stretched and the task became more arduous. I graduated to a brush egg but it was just too tiny and didn’t deep clean my brushes as the hype said it would.

First time I saw a Sigma brush washing tool was on Dinma’s blog here. She’s my best and favourite beauty blogger in the world and I take her word as truth. So I started searching and researching for dupes because 30+ dollars for rubber? Hian!
I didn’t find anything that has reviews as good as this.

So, it took me many months (and a lot of internal debating) for me to finally decide to order. What actually broke the Camel’s hips (back?) was when my newest brush set brought my brush count up to 59. (Wash 59 brushes with my palms?! No oo.)
Sigma has four brush washing tools that are currently available. Two gloves and two mats. There are a couple of other variations that have been discontinued.
For the gloves, you have to hold up one hand and use the other to swirl the brush on the surface of the gloves.
I opted for the mat because I just lay it on the sink and swirl with one hand. I switch hands when I get tired.(Ambidextrous much?) The mat comes in two sizes. The Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Mat( regular size) and the Sigma Spa Express Brush Cleaning Mat( small size). It is advisable to measure your sink to choose which would suit it more. image

This is what I got finally and I don’t think I regret it. I haven’t cleaned my brushes without it since and it cuts off half the time I would have spent cleaning. It has seven textures. 3 for face and 3 for eye brushes. 1 last one to ‘refine’ both. There are “wash” textures, “rinse” textures and “refine” textures. This is what Sigma says about it.

The PATENTED Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Mat is an innovative device featuring 7 patented textures to wash both eye and face brushes. The mat includes suction cups on the backside for secure placement on flat surfaces. Uniquely designed to fit most sinks at 32% larger than the Sigma Spa Express Brush Cleaning Mat.
Asides the price this is a good buy. I’m sure I’ll get a good number of years of use out of it. Sigma is currently having a huge sale with 30% off all their products. Shop here.

Price: $32
You can also purchase from accessoriesng for 11500 naira
